You loose some settings in the process (user preferences, static IP, recreate the self-signed certificate), but now that I have recreated them, everything is working correctly. DOMAIN\Username? I was having this same problem and I was able to resolve it by changing the App Pool Identity.

For some reason and I haven't looked into the why, but placing NTLM at the top of the list solves the issue. Fix your SPN problem, and you'll probably fix IE logons being broken. Right click on your site in IIS under the Sites folder Click Edit Permissions...
Click "Providers..." in the right hand column. Do they affect credit score? your working process is wonderful. Internet Options, Advanced, Enable IWA (checked) 2.
