After reading the description, I think you need to try updating BIOS and latest device drivers for USB. No programs had been installed 3 days prior to the occurence, although I had rebooted several times in that time frame. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controller section.You can reinstall the drivers by using the Recovery Manager in the reinstall drivers and applications section.. Click Device Manager .
