HP directed me to their FTP site for them....ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37746.exeI have this same problem for my HP DV6258SE Vista with AMD processor...Does Broadcom have LAN drivers for Vista with AMD? It worked for me. I live in California, so I can have all the advantages of HP support unlike some of the people I have seen in this thread.
But oddly enough, It began working again, just an hour ago, a month after it stopped working. I'm glad i didn't replace it. I have worked on computers since the 386 and 486 generation (1994) this is a baffling and persistent recurring issue even for me. This unit reaches extremely hot temps.
I restarted the computer into safemode an the wireless didn't work on safe mode, when I restarted the computer on normal mode the Wireless was back to normal. My girlfriend's HP Pavillion Series had a faulty nVidia GPU and overheated to the same level as my tx1000, as well as crippled the internal WLAN.However, with the current flock of thank you. For anyone not familiar with newer HP laptops, a lot of them include a wireless switch which is blue when enabled, and amber (orange) when disabled. I decided to buy a new wireless card, but to no avail it didn't work. But.... The machine simply stopped the wireless connectivity - and I was stuck with my laptop in one single place of the room where the ethernet cable was hooked up! Check This Out Every one of them the wifi card failed.
